  3. Financial Need: Demonstrated financial need is a crucial criterion for the ICSP scholarship. Applicants must provide evidence of their financial need.
  4. Exceptional Merit: Apart from financial need, applicants must also demonstrate exceptional academic merit with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Application Process

The application process for the ICSP scholarship at the University of Oregon consists of two steps: admission to the university and the scholarship application. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply:

  1. Apply for Admission: Before applying for the ICSP scholarship, all applicants must first apply for admission to the University of Oregon. The deadline for admission applications for Fall 2024 is 15th January 2024.
  2. UO Scholarship Dashboard: Once applicants have applied for admission, they will receive an invitation to enter the UO Scholarship Dashboard within one week. This dashboard is where the scholarship application process takes place.
  3. Submit the General Application: In the UO Scholarship Dashboard, applicants must submit the General Application, which includes personal and academic information.
  4. ISSS Endowed Scholarships Application: Along with the General Application, applicants must also complete the ISSS Endowed Scholarships Application specifically for the ICSP scholarship.
  5. Reference Letters: Applicants need to arrange for reference letters to be submitted on their behalf. These letters should highlight the applicant’s academic achievements, financial need, and potential for contributing to cultural exchange.
  6. Submission Deadline: All application materials, including reference letters, must be submitted by 4pm (PST) on 16th February 2024.

Scholarship Renewal

The ICSP scholarship is renewable each year until the completion of a UO degree, subject to certain conditions. To maintain the scholarship, ICSP scholars must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress: ICSP scholars must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and make satisfactory progress towards their degree.
  2. Cultural Service Obligations: Scholars must complete the required 66-80 hours of cultural service annually. This may involve giving presentations, participating in cultural events, or engaging with the university community in other ways.
  3. Active Enrollment: Students must be actively enrolled at the University of Oregon to continue receiving the scholarship.
