About the University of Twente Scholarships (UTS)

The University of Twente Scholarships (UTS) are designed to support excellent students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree (MSc) at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. These scholarships are open to students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries. The University of Twente offers a wide range of qualifying Master’s programs, including Applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Robotics, and many more.

Eligibility Criteria for the UTS

To be eligible for the University of Twente Scholarships, you must fulfill the following requirements:

You must have been provisionally admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master’s programs for the academic year 2024/2025.
You must have a student number.
You must not have graduated from a UT graduate program.
You must comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands, if applicable.
You must meet the general English language test requirement with an Academic IELTS score of 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills.
You are not eligible for a Dutch study loan.
You must belong to the best 5 to 10 percent of your class, as the UTS is a scholarship for excellent students.

Scholarship Value and Duration

The University of Twente Scholarships offer varying amounts of financial support to successful applicants. The scholarship value ranges from €3,000 to €22,000 for one year. If you are enrolled in a two-year study program, you may receive an additional UTS scholarship equal to the amount awarded in the first year, provided you meet the ongoing requirements.

Application Process and Deadlines

The application process for the University of Twente Scholarships is separate from the application for course entry at the university. To apply for the UTS, you must first apply for a Master’s program at the University of Twente and receive a (conditional) admission letter.

Applications for the UTS open on 15th October 2023. There are two application rounds: Round 1 and Round 2. The deadline for Round 1 applications, which opens on 15th October 2023, is 1st February 2024. The deadline for Round 2 applications, which opens on 1st February 2024, is 1st May 2024.
